The Mercedes-Benz W215 is a luxury grand tourer produced by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz between 1999 and 2006. It was sold under the CL-Class model name. The W215 replaced the previous Mercedes-Benz C140 CL-Class/S-Class coupés after 1998, and preceded the Mercedes-Benz W216 model introduced in 2006. The initial W215 model was produced from 2000 to 2003, then facelifted in 2003 along with the introduction of the 500 HP double-turbocharged 5.5-liter V12. A Mercedes-Benz CL600 has recently been on series 17 of Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson had bought a used one for £6,000. They were doing a challenge of buying second hand super-cars for under £6,000. A few more episodes later Clarkson relieved that it had broke down.
